Being thankful day.

Term paper from hell was finished yesterday, and is done. It’s over. If I had no self dignity, I’d show others ;) Now I can focus on my agriculture term paper, which is the FUN paper! (And then, finals, and winter break!) Today isn’t a usual Thanksgiving for us, since Hubby’s family is in Eastern Oregon, and we opted to stay sane, and stay home. My family works today, so we’re going up tomorrow to spend the weekend in crazy town, enjoying homebrew, and making fun of people that act weird in Portland. (The more time I spend in Portland, the more I like living in rural Oregon!)

Today I’m making turkey sandwiches, stuffing, sweet potatoes, and slept in ’til noon. I can’t believe the husband let me, but the kid sure protested! I’ve been waking up at 5am for the past few months, but naturally, I’m a sleeper-inner. Man, I’ve missed sleeping the morning away!

Tomorrow I think the plan is that I’m making pumpkin meatloaf, which is meatloaf baked in a pumpkin. No idea what else, but I should have grabbed more asparagus from the grocery store last night. Mmmm! I think my sister will have a better idea on food, well other than homebrew, since she’s the domestic one of the family. I’m just the creative cook who gets weird looks from the family when I tell them what I am making ;)

I could write a long sappy post about what I’m thankful for, but instead I’ll just say I’m thankful for my life, freedom, and family. My wonderful little girl, and grumpy (Very, very, VERY tolerant) husband, our amazing critter family, and my friends, who’re always there. Esp this week with the ‘term paper from hell’, having not only a coaching team, but a cheering team, esp after I was so frustrated, I considered turning in ONLY the introduction, which was the only part of the paper I’d successfully written ;) I have to say, I have some amazing, inspiration, sweet friends, who are so, so, so patient. Really, what would we all do without friends?? *G*

And now, off to make coffee, and turkey sandwiches. Maybe if I’m really lucky today, I’ll go to bed early. That’ll be a huge step in catching up with the sleep I’ve lost since the school term started!
