Typical lazy day

December 31st, 2008

We have NO plans today, and it’s nice. We’ll likely go out on a short hike or something out by Foster Lake today, but no clue. I’ve been so wiped from being so busy, that it’s really nice to sit here at home, and just be at home. I”m working on a [...]

it just goes on and on my friend
some person started spinning it
not knowing what it was
and she’ll continue spinning it forever
just because
this is the project that doesn’t end….

I started this project before my daughter was born. Someone asked if I did custom yarn spinning (I posted on a local list asking for pet fur [...]

The creepiest Santa ever

December 31st, 2008

This HUGE light up Santa display is perched over a building in Albany, Oregon, right across from Waverly Park. This has to be the ANGRIEST looking Santa ever… Dea doesn’t even care for it, and calls it “Mad Santa”.
We were in the area tonight, so I dropped by to snap a [...]

Today we visited beautiful Corvallis and had Galaxy with us. We walked around, and spotted a cute little park with a playground outside downtown, Central Park, but stopped at the “No Dogs Allowed” sign. WHA?! Meanies. Corvallis is renowned for being “the friendliest bike town” in Oregon, but sure doesn’t seem [...]

More Cardigan spindles

December 29th, 2008

These have actually been done a while, but I totally spaced them during the holiday rush. Whoops! I seem to be good at burying things on my desk and forgetting them ;)

A black tri, and brindle Cardi herding sheep.

This spindle is for sale- I’ll be listing it on etsy eventually, or you can [...]

Morgan, Dea and I took a road trip up to Oregon City to meet with a Washington breeder to pick up some ratties they wanted to place. We always have fun on our road trips, and even though the roads were better than expected, and we got to the meeting spot over 1/2 hour [...]

Sports Illustrated did a wonderful follow up article on Michael Vick fighting dogs called What happened to Michael Vick’s dogs…. I love it, and it’s great to see some factful media attention on Pittys.
It’s not new, but it’s a favorite song of mine, by John Shipe:

Pit Bull Blues - John Shipe
The thing Kiwi [...]

Dea calender 2009

December 25th, 2008

Every year we put together a calender for us, and the family, using pictures of Dea taken that month, of the previous year. They seem to be popular with the close family, and Dea loves seeing how she looked the year before. Also, it’s a nice keepsake!

The rest of the months in order: [...]

On a happier note, I’ve been tagged in a “who each dog would be if he/she were human” (personality wise), in general or as a specific person game.
Traum: 7 in march. The good kid, and mamas boy. Needy, yet also makes sure to keep his Mom happy. He really takes the [...]

Monday, Nibbles AKA ‘Nipples’, who is owned by our friend Kay, but had been staying here ’til Kay gets her life back in order and moves (Or forever, since Dea fell in complete love), was completely unresponsive, and pale gummed. We rushed to the vet, completly in shock, since she’d been fine the night [...]
